Bangladesh Whitewashed Pakistan in Test Series at their Home: Bangladesh cricket team, which is facing political coup in the country, registered a historic victory by defeating Pakistan 2-0 on its own ground. Bangladesh has defeated Pakistan by six wickets in the second consecutive Test. With this victory, Bangladesh wiped out Pakistan in the two-match Test series. Bangladesh won the first test by 10 wickets.

Both the matches were played in Rawalpindi. Pakistan team was criticized a lot after the defeat in the first test. Now Pakistan team and players are in danger as they have to face heavy criticism after losing the second test.

In this test match Bangladesh captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, Pakistan scored 274 runs in its first innings. In reply, Bangladesh's first innings ended at 262 runs. In this way, Pakistan had gained a lead of 12 runs in the second innings on the basis of first innings.

Pakistan scored 172 runs in its second innings and set a target of 185 runs for Bangladesh. Bangladesh achieved this target by losing four wickets. Liton Das was the hero of this match. He, along with Mehdi Hasan Miraj, took charge of the Bangladesh team which had lost six wickets for 26 runs in the first innings and scored 138 runs.

Notably, this is only Bangladesh's second Test series win on foreign soil. The first time they won a Test series away from home was in 2009 when they toured the West Indies for a two-match contest. Shakib Al Hasan was the captain of the side during that tour and interestingly he is still a part of the Test side.

Bangladesh team has been playing Test since 2000. Since then, it has defeated any team only four times in bilateral series of two or more matches. Before Pakistan, Bangladesh team had defeated West Indies in 2009 (2-0) and 2018/19 (2-0) and Zimbabwe (3-0) in 2014/15. Apart from this, Bangladesh had defeated Ireland in 2022/23, Zimbabwe in 2019/20 and also Zimbabwe in 2021 in one-off Test series.

Effect on World Test Championship 2023-25
With this series win, Bangladesh has also created a stir in the points table of the World Test Championship 2023-25. Now Bangladesh team remains at sixth position after winning the series. By winning this series, Bangladesh has put the big team South Africa in trouble. Bangladesh is now at sixth position with 35.00 win percentage. At the same time, South Africa is at fifth position with 38.89 win percentage. Pakistan is now present at number eight.

Top of the table at present is the Indian team, India is at number one with 68.52 win percentage. At second place is the Australian team which has a winning percentage of 62.50. Apart from this, New Zealand team is at number three. New Zealand remains at third position with 50.00 win percentage. England is at number four and now Bangladesh has come at number five.
