It was a fighting performance from Ireland but unfortunately they are on the losing side in their inaugural Test match. The first innings batting performance left much to be desired but in the second innings they were superb.Kevin O'Brien scored a memorable century while Stuart Thompson stuck with him and contributed with a gutsy fifty. For Pakistan they were tested with both bat and ball and after being 14-3 earlier they needed someone to stand up. That person was Imam ul-Haq who brought his team home with an unbeaten 74 on debut, one for the future. Mohammad Abbas returned figures of 9-110 in the match and he is coming into form as Pakistan head into the Test series against England.This has been a fabulous spectacle with both teams playing their part, Ireland look like they have a bright future in this format.
