Usman Khawaja, Australia's senior batter, has finally received visa approval and is set to travel to India for the four-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which begins on February 9. Khawaja, by the way, was unable to travel with the remaining Australian squad due to a visa delay.

However, according to Cricbuzz, the problem has been resolved and the Tasmanian, along with a couple of support staff, will depart Melbourne on February 2. On Wednesday, February 1, the cricketer received his visa late at night (as per Australian time). Cricket Australia (CA) quickly got to work making his travel arrangements.

According to the report, Pakistan-born Khawaja's visa application was forwarded to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in New Delhi for approval. The MEA sent a green signal to the Indian High Commission in Canberra a few hours ago, which was immediately forwarded to the Indian Consulate in Melbourne, which approved the visa shortly after.

Khawaja has previously experienced visa issues while visiting India. Pat Cummins and company have already left in two groups for India. They will spend a few days in Bengaluru, where they will train in preparation for the first Test. Khawaja, along with some support personnel, will travel to Bengaluru to join the rest of the squad. The Australian team will arrive in Nagpur three days before the first Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The series' next three games will be played in Delhi, Dharamsala, and Ahmedabad. Following the red-ball format, the two teams will face off in a three-match home ODI series.
