Babar Azam Highest Run Getter in T20I: Babar Azam scored just 11 runs in the second T20I against South Africa, but with those runs he has set the world record for the most runs scored in T20I cricket history. He surpassed Rohit Sharma.

Pakistan's star batsman Babar Azam created history in T20I cricket when he scored 11 runs in the second T20I against South Africa. During this innings, Babar Azam created a world record in T20I cricket and has now surpassed Rohit Sharma to become the highest run-scorer in this format. The second match of the three-match T20I series between Pakistan and South Africa was played on Friday, October 31 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Batting first in this match, the visiting team was restricted to just 110 runs. Pakistan won the match with 9 wickets in hand in 13.1 overs, leveling the series 1-1. South Africa had won the first T20I by 55 runs.

After bundling out South Africa for 110 in the first innings, Pakistan's batting got off to a strong start. Sahibzada Farhan (28) and Sam Ayub added 54 runs for the first wicket in 6.4 overs. Babar Azam, who came in to bat next, scored just 11 runs as Sam Ayub wreaked havoc at the other end. However, by scoring just 9 runs in this match, Babar Azam had usurped the number-one batsman's title in T20I cricket from Rohit Sharma.

Babar Azam now has 4,234 runs in 130 T20I matches, scoring these runs at an average of 39.57 and a strike rate of 128.77. Babar has also scored three centuries and 36 half-centuries in T20Is.

Former Indian captain Rohit Sharma, who retired after winning the 2024 T20 World Cup, has scored 4231 runs in 159 T20I matches at an average of 32.05 and a strike rate of 140.89. Babar Azam has now overtaken Rohit Sharma by three runs. Star batsman Virat Kohli is third on the list with 4188 runs.

Babar Azam has so far scored 14,891 runs in international cricket. He is also close to becoming a 15,000-run scorer in international cricket. He has so far scored 4,366 runs in 61 Test matches for Pakistan. In ODI cricket, Babar Azam has 6,291 runs in 134 matches. Now he has 4,234 runs in T20 Internationals. Overall, he has scored 14,891 runs in international cricket. He has scored 31 international centuries and 103 half-centuries.
